“New Economic Challenges after EU Accession: What Awaits Us in the Long Run?"

Like in previous years, Zagreb School of Economics and Management strives to reach all interested economists in order to discuss macroeconomic and financial issues relavant for the contemporary global economy of Central, Eastern and South Eastern Europe, with special emphasis on Croatia. At last years conferences we attracted authors inclined towards giving various views of the implications of the crisis in the region, as well as presenting these countries' reactions from different prospectives. The aim of this conference is to discuss new economic challenges upon entering EU, which is to say, they will openly discuss long-term growth prospectives. Since a large part of the reforms carried out in Croatia are directed precisely towards joining EU, the question as to what happens after a long awaited membership, remains.

We hope that papers and discussions at 4th ZSEM Economic Conference would provide insight into the expectations in the long term, meaning after the EU accession. We are especially looking forward to meeting all interested parties engaged in this field to present their papers and share their experiences in the discussion on the conference topics and panels. For the above reasons, many more ZSEM Economic Conferences to analyze current economic problems can be expected in following years.
